Within the Care and Social Services Administration, full-time is the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. More information about what this means for this position will be provided during a possible interview. Exceptions (to full-time as a norm) are personal assistants.

Fyrislundsgatan 62 is a residence located in the Årsta district, surrounded by several green areas and well-developed walking and cycling paths. There are good bus connections that make it easy to reach other parts of Uppsala.
The residence consists of three departments with a total of 26 users. Each user has their own apartment with a room, kitchen, and bathroom, which allows for independent living with support close at hand. Each floor has common areas in the form of a kitchen, dining room, TV room, and office. This creates good conditions for social interaction and community. Each floor has its own staff group, and there is awake night staff to ensure safety and support at all hours of the day.
Job Description
We are looking for a flexible and practical person who enjoys varied tasks. In this role, you will work throughout the building and help where needed. This means supporting regular staff on all floors and contributing to the smooth operation of the organization, regardless of department. You will assist with practical tasks related to the residence and be available for special needs. When regular staff are absent, you will cover their departments.
Your duties also include working according to the user's implementation plan and being responsible for providing individual care and support in various everyday situations. You motivate, guide, and support the user in both social and practical activities and promote participation and opportunities for community contacts.
The work also involves collaborating with colleagues, licensed staff, and other external actors to ensure safe and coordinated support. You will manage medication according to given instructions and be responsible for documenting in journals as well as participating in the establishment of implementation plans.
The position involves work during daytime, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a high school diploma in care and social services or other education equivalent to assistant nurse competence, alternatively support educator or social educator. To succeed in the role of residential assistant, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and be comfortable using a computer in your work. You also have experience in documentation. Previous experience in caring for people with mental disabilities is an advantage. Experience with low-arousal approaches and motivational interviewing (MI) is also a plus.
As a person, you are secure, attentive, and professional, with a good ability to distinguish between personal and professional matters. You adapt easily to changes and see opportunities in new situations. In your interactions with users and colleagues, you are observant, accommodating, and genuinely engaged in creating a functioning and meaningful everyday life for each individual. You collaborate well, communicate clearly, and handle conflicts constructively. With your empathetic ability, you can understand others' perspectives without taking over their feelings, allowing you to provide support in a respectful and professional manner. You have a strong desire to help and actively contribute to finding solutions in both practical and social situations.
