Do you want to work in the intersection of law, operations, and development – and contribute to both legal security and the future of social services? We are now looking for an administrative lawyer who wants to combine a comprehensive responsibility for data protection work with a broader mandate as legal support within the social services department.
The position is placed within the development area – a central staff function responsible for systematic quality work, digitalization, procurement and follow-up, assignments from the board, the transition to the new Social Services Act, good and close care, and civil preparedness. Here you will also find functions such as operational controller, medically responsible nurse (MAS), and additional legal expertise.
We work closely with the social board, management, managers, and employees in the operations, as well as in collaboration with colleagues within the municipality and external parties. Our common mission is to create sustainable, legally secure, and appropriate solutions for the residents of the municipality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The role has two important components, one of which involves data protection and information security, while the other pertains to general and special administrative law.
Data Protection and Information Security
You have a comprehensive responsibility for the social services department's data protection work and act as the data protection coordinator. Your tasks include:
- Being responsible for the department's processes regarding data protection/GDPR
- Collaborating closely with the municipality's data protection officer
- Developing, managing, and following up on routines, guidelines, and working methods
- Handling personal data incidents, register extracts, and other rights-related matters
- Planning and conducting training and producing support materials for managers and employees
- Monitoring legislative developments and supporting the operations during changes
Administrative Legal Work
Alongside the data protection work, you will provide qualified legal support to the department. This includes, among other things:
- Providing legal support to managers and employees in administrative law matters
- Supporting the operations during changes in laws and regulations through analysis and interpretation
- Coordinating the board's delegation order within the department in dialogue with the municipal executive office
- Participating in investigations, decision-making materials, and board processes
- Contributing to strengthening legal security, quality, and equal treatment in the department's work
The role is under development, which means good opportunities to influence content and working methods over time, based on both the needs of the operations and your expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
- A law degree or equivalent education, or experience in a similar role at another authority/organization
- At least three years of experience in qualified legal work
- Documented experience in data protection/GDPR work
- Experience in independently planning and executing initiatives in data protection or information security
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience from public operations
- Knowledge of the areas of operation within social services
- Experience in public procurement
