We meet this challenge with a wide range of adult education and labor market initiatives – and we are trying new ways to collaborate with the business community, other administrations, authorities, and civil society. To succeed, we must dare to innovate, test new ideas, and find smart solutions.

We are about 400 colleagues in the administration, and our role is to provide residents with the right tools so they can take responsibility for their own development and livelihood. We work with labor market issues, adult education, and financial assistance. Additionally, we coordinate the city's work with migration and establishment issues.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a social worker for a summer substitute position within financial assistance during June, July, and August.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• processing financial assistance applications, which includes assessing eligibility for financial assistance and communicating your decision to the resident
• some positions involve both processing financial assistance and planning for residents with significant rehabilitation needs related to addiction and/or other health issues
• resident contacts
• collaboration within the administration and with other authorities

The work is carried out in collaboration with administrators and labor market secretaries.

We are in an exciting phase where we are developing the processing of financial assistance. A large part of our residents apply for financial assistance digitally, which allows for automation and continued development of the processing process.

The workplace is located in central Helsingborg, just a short walk from Helsingborg C.

Qualifications

We expect you to:

• have a degree in social work or be a social work student who has completed your internship
• be familiar with using digital systems
• be able to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
• preferably have experience from a social or administrative role

In this position, the following skills are essential for success in the role. You need to collaborate well with colleagues and residents, easily build relationships and networks with various stakeholders, work according to given instructions, naturally adapt and respond to changing circumstances, and deliver results. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. It is also an advantage if you can work for a longer, continuous period during the summer. Before a possible employment, you will need to present a valid extract from the police records. You will receive more information if this becomes relevant for you.
