Case Officer in Social Services
The position is located within the Social Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Social Administration is responsible for authority exercise, ordering services, and self-management in the areas of individual and family care, LSS, and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to.
Your Responsibilities
We are now looking for two case officers who want to be a central part of our work with children and youth within social services. You will be employed as a case officer, but your tasks correspond to the role of a social administrator. The role involves being an administrative and coordinating support to social workers, where you, through structure, quality, and continuity in case processes, contribute to a legally secure and efficient flow in authority exercise. Since the role is new to us, there are good opportunities to help shape working methods and routines together with the units.
Your tasks will consist of supporting effective administrative processes related to authority cases. You will assist in investigations and documentation but will not make any independent authority decisions. This includes processing incoming documents, handling requests for information and document release, communicating decision materials and other documents, as well as registering and quality assuring data in the operational system Treserva.
You also have a coordinating function, which may involve booking health examinations, planning and inviting to SIP and network meetings, and participating as documentation support, preparing materials for IVO reporting, internal controls, and quality follow-up. Another part of the assignment is to gather information and materials from partners such as schools, guardians, BUP, and other authorities for our investigations. The role also involves close collaboration with several different functions within and outside the organization, such as social workers, administrators, managers, and your closest colleague. In the role, it is required that you have the ability to structure your workday and drive your processes independently.
This is an opportunity to step into a new role where you truly make a difference. By creating structure, order, and secure administration, you contribute to ensuring that people receive the support they are entitled to. Together, we build a modern and sustainable social service – and we hope you want to be a part of it. With us, you will have the opportunity to have a broad role with varying tasks where you become an important function in the team as well as between units. You will receive a rewarding work environment where you can contribute to the improvement and development of administrative processes. We also welcome development that includes digitization and AI.
Your Workplace
This position is located within the Children and Youth department, which is a large and central part of the Social Administration and consists of about 210 dedicated employees. The department is responsible for investigation, follow-up, and execution of measures and placements for the target group aged 0–20 years, and drives continuous quality and development work. Within the department, there are four investigation and follow-up units, a recruitment/matching unit, as well as units for housing and open care. You will be directed towards all four investigation and follow-up units.
Our office is centrally located at Drottninggatan 45 in Linköping. We work in newly renovated and fresh activity-based office landscapes. Working hours are scheduled for weekdays from 07:50 to 17:00, with shorter working hours during the summer months. We apply flexible working agreements for increased flexibility. Possibility for remote work may exist after agreement, based on the needs of the organization and individual circumstances.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in social work, behavioral science, trained social administrator, or similar education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have good knowledge and experience of social services' case processes and relevant legislation such as SoL, LVU, and LSS. Since you will be placed in the Children and Youth department, we prefer that you have experience in authority exercise within the area.
The position involves communication with both internal and external contacts as well as documentation, which requires good Swedish in both spoken and written form and strong administrative skills. Children and youth have advanced significantly in terms of digitization and AI, which is why we wish for you to have competence and experience in this area. Furthermore, having a B driver's license is an advantage as travel may occur in the position.
As a person, you are secure and stable. You have a positive energy and attitude in the situations you encounter, where you strive to be part of the solution. Furthermore, you are self-driven, structured, and take responsibility for your tasks. You easily adapt to changing circumstances and are flexible when needed. Additionally, you are attentive and accommodating in your interactions, showing interest, willingness, and the ability to help others.
Welcome with your application!
