The Office of Economy and Governance has a coordinating role by providing support and service to the entire municipality. The office's area of responsibility spans the entire economic spectrum, such as financial planning, accounting, budgeting and follow-up, liquidity and financing issues, investments, and financial administration. The office is also responsible for the municipality's procurement and purchasing, local strategic issues, as well as the task of coordinating matters related to operational planning, follow-up, statistics, quality, and analysis. The office also drives the municipality's overall work for sustainable community development.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a lawyer with several years of experience in public administration, preferably with a background in municipal operations. As a municipal lawyer in Sigtuna municipality, you play an important role in contributing to legally sound decisions so that we can deliver services of the highest quality to our residents. Together with your colleagues, who are also municipal lawyers, your task is to provide legal advice to the municipal council, municipal assembly, and administration, as well as to other committees and administrations. You will work with a focus on public law, primarily the Local Government Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, and the Freedom of Information and Secrecy Act, but also provide support in total defense and to some extent corporate law.
Your work will include;
- Drafting and reviewing decision-making documents, governing documents, and contracts.
- Conducting legal investigations, assisting in legal processes, and representing the municipality in court.
- Training officials and elected representatives in relevant legislation.
This is a broad and varied role in a fast-paced environment, where your tasks will touch on various areas of law and involve contacts with many functions in our organization. The secretariat unit, where the position is located, is also responsible for conducting elections, which will shape the unit's work during 2026.
The position is part-time, equivalent to a half-time position, and is temporary with a start date as soon as possible.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a law degree and experience in qualified legal work within public administration, preferably from municipal operations. You have good knowledge of and experience working with municipal law and administrative law.
You are structured in your work, accustomed to working independently, and planning your time and prioritizing your tasks on your own. It is important that you have a good ability to quickly understand various issues and that you enjoy working independently as well as in a group. You are unpretentious and confident in yourself and in the role of municipal lawyer, have a pedagogical approach, and can explain complex issues in an accessible way. You collaborate well with others and have an unpretentious focus on the common goal. You can express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish. Additionally, it is natural for you to stay updated in your profession and area of expertise.
