Assignment length: Consulting assignment for 12 months with good opportunities for extension or takeover by the client.

About the job as a strategic buyer:

As a strategic buyer within the Gripen business unit, you will play a key role in securing long-term sustainable and business-oriented arrangements with suppliers. You will be responsible for the entire commercial flow - from strategy and contracts to performance follow-up - in close collaboration with production, development, marketing, and after-sales. The position operates in an international context where the business is often complex and technically advanced, requiring structure, leadership in supplier teams, and a clear total cost perspective.

Common tasks include:

• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies within defined areas.
• Negotiating commercial terms and drafting supplier agreements.
• Leading and coordinating supplier teams in collaboration with other functions.
• Establishing and further developing relationships with new and existing suppliers.
• Overall responsibility for monitoring and analyzing supplier performance related to cost, lead time, quality, and delivery capability.
• Driving necessary initiatives purposefully and systematically.

The candidate we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who thrives in the intersection of technology, business, and operational development and who has documented experience in driving complex business deals. You may have a background in strategic procurement, purchasing, project management, or contract management - preferably from technology-heavy environments such as defense, aviation, or industrial production. You are relationship-building, analytical, and comfortable in cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to see both business benefits and total cost over the lifecycle.

We would like you to have:

• A university degree in economics or another relevant discipline.
• Several years of experience in business-driven roles, such as strategic procurement or purchasing.
• Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• The ability to understand and analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) over the lifecycle.
• An interest in technology, preferably with experience from technical projects.
• Good negotiation skills in complex and international environments.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration in larger organizations.
• The ability to build long-term and trusting relationships.
