About the AssignmentWe are looking for a senior project manager for an ongoing vehicle procurement project within regional rail traffic. The assignment includes the procurement of electric and bimodal rail vehicles, where production is ongoing and vehicles in Sweden are undergoing tests to verify functionality in Swedish conditions. You will play a central role in driving the project towards set goals and ensuring a structured handover to the management organization.
The role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, steering groups, and operations that will receive and put the vehicles into operation.
Responsibilities- Plan, lead, and follow up on the project's implementation against goals, timelines, and quality
- Lead the project's resources and drive issues to decision and delivery
- Manage commercial and technical issues in the project
- Be responsible for budget monitoring and invoice management
- Drive supplier and contract management and conduct complex negotiations
- Ensure collaboration with the receiving organization before commissioning and handover
- Report status, risks, and decision points to the sponsor and steering group
- Higher education or equivalent relevant work experience
- At least 5 years of project management experience as a lead project manager
- At least 5 years of experience in managing projects concerning complex technical systems (as a project manager or sub-project manager)
- Project management training according to a structured project management methodology
- Relevant knowledge and practical experience of established project management methodology (at least 5 years)
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement
- Extensive experience in supplier and contract management
- Negotiation experience with a background in complex negotiations (> 5 years)
- Experience in developing and monitoring budgets (5–10 years)
- Experience in procurements according to LOU/LUF (> 5 years)
- Good knowledge of the industry and market conditions
- Relevant knowledge of quality systems as well as laws, requirements, and guidelines
- Broad technical competence as a generalist in complex technical systems with long lifespans (10–20 years)
- Understanding of the lifecycle of complex technical systems and the need for maintenance, operation, and management over time
- Fluent in Swedish and very good English
- Experience and basic knowledge of railway technology/railway vehicles or equivalent complex systems with long lifespans
- Understanding of maintenance arrangements for railway vehicles (or equivalent complex systems) over the lifecycle
- Training in LUF and/or LOU
