Timrå Municipality is looking for two temporary social workers (summer substitutes) for the Unit for Sustainable Support.

The Unit for Sustainable Support consists of three operations; Financial Assistance, Competence Center, and Competence Center Work Arena. The unit's common purpose is to create conditions and opportunities for the target group to achieve their own sustainable support. The three operations are led by their respective unit managers, and all employees collaborate based on the common purpose.

In Timrå Municipality, we work based on a governance model that focuses on the needs of the citizen. We apply a trust-based working method where we maintain close contact and work in close collaboration with those we meet, as well as in active cooperation with authorities and other important actors that are significant for the opportunity to achieve self-support.

Responsibilities

As a temporary social worker during the summer, your tasks will include processing applications for financial assistance, contacting applicants via phone or visits, and documenting and recording according to current legislation.

To thrive and succeed in the role, it is important that you have a genuine interest in people, as well as in society at large, as knowledge of other authorities and actors' regulations is crucial for creating conditions for individuals to achieve self-support. You need to be good at both making contacts and developing relationships, and it is important that you are goal-oriented, responsive, humble, responsible, and unpretentious in your working method. Furthermore, it is important that you are flexible and confident in working independently while also appreciating and easily collaborating with others.

We will, of course, provide you with an introduction to the work and close supervision during the summer through the unit's manager and specialist social workers. The workplace is also characterized by a supportive, collegial spirit where we take joint responsibility and help each other when needed.

Qualifications

Education: We particularly welcome applications from you who are a social work student or who have recently graduated with a degree in social work. You may also be a behavioral scientist or have another relevant university education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Meritorious: Experience with the documentation support Lifecare and good knowledge of current legislation. If you have completed practical training in financial assistance or within other authority operations in social services, it is meritorious.

Conditions

Temporary summer employment according to agreement, but you must be able to work full-time during the period from June 8 to August 16, 2026.

• Have the right to work in Sweden and be able to present a valid work permit
• If necessary, present a valid driver's license

For certain positions, a security clearance may be conducted in accordance with applicable regulations. If the position is subject to security clearance, you will be required to undergo and be approved in this. For a few security-cleared positions, in addition to the requirement for approved security clearance, Swedish citizenship may also be required.
