Operational Leader at SiS Youth Home Vemyra

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Vemyra, located outside Sollefteå, receives school-age boys up to 16 years old with psychosocial problems as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to help create the vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the role of Operational Leader is a meaningful job. In this role, you will be responsible for institution-wide coordination and management of ongoing work outside office hours, in the evenings and nights, to promote a safe care and work environment. You will guide and support your colleagues in their work and ensure that operations are conducted legally and in accordance with applicable governing documents, methods, and set goals. Specifically, this means that you will be responsible for incident management in emergency situations and take necessary actions following an incident. You will communicate identified deficiencies and deviations from routines to the relevant managers. You will establish and update safety assessments and make decisions regarding coercive measures according to LVU and SiS's work and delegation order.

Qualifications

Furthermore, you are structured in your work and have a good ability to plan and prioritize effectively.

You should also have:

  • Relevant higher education such as social worker, behavioral scientist, or other equivalent higher education, or at least a two-year vocational education (treatment pedagogue) along with experience working within SiS or similar operations.
  • Several years of experience working within SiS or other organizations focused on care, treatment, and safety, such as social services, care and treatment, correctional services, or other relevant fields.
  • Good ability to lead, prioritize, and coordinate a work group.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement. Working hours are distributed across days, evenings, and nights.
