The position is structured as 80% employment at Bergeforsens school and 20% employment at Ljustorps school.

Bergeforsens school is an F-6 school located 15 minutes from central Sundsvall and right next to the E4. The school has a clear structure, engaged staff, and a strong focus on safety, study peace, and accessible teaching. Here, students are met by adults who care, collaborate, and take joint responsibility for each student’s development and well-being. Bergeforsens school is an F-6 school – where everyone can thrive, develop, and feel joy in work. Here, preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, and after-school care collaborate. Currently, about 200 students attend the school. The many different activities are well integrated so that all children and adults feel a sense of belonging and community. At Bergeforsens school, every student should reach their full potential, be academically and socially prepared, and have the tools required for the future. Our mission is to build students' self-esteem, inner motivation, fighting spirit, and foster a sense of pride and a positive attitude towards learning. Ljustorps school is an F-6 school, beautifully located on the outskirts of Timrå municipality. The school has about 50 children.

Job Description

As a school counselor at Bergeforsens and Ljustorps schools, you are an important part of the student health work and collaborate closely with school management, teachers, and other professionals within EHT. Your mission includes:

• Working preventively and promoting students' mental health and well-being.
• Supporting students and staff in social and psychosocial issues.
• Conducting school social assessments and investigations prior to admission to specially adapted primary school.
• Promoting good school attendance and investigating any school absenteeism.
• Driving the school’s values work and actively working to prevent, counteract, and investigate all forms of harassment.
• Developing work around social media and screen use in close dialogue with parent councils and guardians.
• Contributing your expertise to the school’s joint development work and in designing adequate interventions for students.
• Collaborating with guardians and external actors as needed to create a holistic view of the student’s situation.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is an educated social worker, behavioral scientist, or has another equivalent education.
• Has a B driver's license.

Personal Characteristics

• Has a genuine interest in the living conditions of children and young people.
• Is secure, attentive, and professional in interactions with students and guardians.
• Has a good ability to work cross-professionally with actors within the region and social services.
