Your new workplace
The Department of Individual and Labor Market Affairs (IAF) is responsible for social services, the municipality's labor market measures, adult education, and refugee reception.
We create conditions for learning and work, improved living situations for those with mental health issues and substance abuse, safe growing conditions, and reduced social exclusion. We increase opportunities for individuals to achieve self-sufficiency. We work preventively, and based on the individual's needs and possibilities, we provide the right support at the right time.

The area of work and support has the task of promoting economic and social security for individuals by helping those without income to achieve self-sufficiency. This is done within the framework of economic assistance. The unit consists of three workgroups that handle economic assistance: the Reception Group, Team South, and North. We are looking for summer substitutes for all groups during the period of June to August, with start dates as agreed.
The substitutes will start on 2026-06-08 and end on 2026-08-14.
Your contribution as a social worker
The role of the social worker within economic assistance is to investigate, assess, and decide on the right to economic assistance according to the Social Services Act. The work involves close collaboration with individuals to support, motivate, and investigate their conditions on the path to self-sufficiency. The aim is for this work to be carried out through good cooperation with other units within the department, the Employment Service, the Social Insurance Agency, healthcare, and other partners.
The work involves exercising authority in connection with the processing of economic assistance. You will work independently but also closely with your colleagues in the workgroup and receive support from management. The Reception Group handles and investigates the initial need for economic assistance. Team South and North work on investigating the right to long-term support.
