Vivant Care's Trygga Barn Program

We are now looking for a stable and committed respite family to support one of our foster homes by taking in a child under 10 years old every other weekend and during certain school breaks.

The assignment involves providing the child with a safe, predictable, and caring environment where there is room for rest, play, and positive experiences. At the same time, you will be an important respite for the foster home, allowing them to continue their long-term and vital mission with good quality.

• Have previous experience working or volunteering within LSS

• Have a good understanding of children's various needs and adaptations

• Can offer structure, calmness, and clarity

• Have a stable home and a secure living situation

Trygga Barn is a family and emergency home service that accepts placements of children who have been exposed to various forms of violence, such as attachment trauma, psychological violence, and acute protection needs. The children may exhibit trauma and mental health issues, such as self-destructive behaviors, trauma diagnoses, insecure attachment, and anxiety problems.

Trygga Barn is the first foster home service in Sweden where all placed children are assigned a child representative with confidentiality towards the foster home, in order to ensure good care and prevent misconduct. The program also has specialist competence in narcissistic and emotional violence.

All foster and emergency homes within the program are offered continuous training, supervision, and respite.

We welcome all types of family constellations, including single parents, couples, same-sex couples, and families with or without children of their own.

Requirements:

• At least 18 years old

• The child must be offered their own room

• Criminal record check, suspicion register, social register, LOB register, as well as registers from the Social Insurance Agency and the Enforcement Authority

Personal qualities that are highly valued include safety, emotional availability, cooperation skills, self-reflection, and commitment.

• Scope: Every other weekend and during school breaks
