About the position

The Social Administration in Härnösand works for everyone's right to function based on their conditions. Through support, service, and care, we enable Härnösand residents with intellectual, mental, or physical disabilities to live an independent and good life.

Within Functional Support and Employment: Social Psychiatry, the goal is for individuals to have the conditions to live their lives with as high a degree of quality of life, health, and independence as possible. The individual support can be both rehabilitative and habilitative.

We are now looking for two support assistants for the residence Saltviksvägen!

As a support assistant within social psychiatry, you will work to support, motivate, and activate users in their daily lives. This involves individualized support in practical matters such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, employment, leisure, and social life. In your work, you will promote participation through good encounters and respect for the individual's self-determination. You will have delegated health and medical care tasks, act as contact personnel, and fulfill documentation obligations. Together with other professionals, you will drive the development of the operations based on legislation, guidelines, and proven working methods.

An active effort is also underway with Everyday Life Rehabilitation as an evidence-based method with a user focus, recovery, and meaningful everyday life within our social psychiatric residence.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Degree from the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on pedagogical and social work or the Care Program with a focus on disability/psychiatry, or equivalent education assessed as equivalent by the employer
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language (minimum level SFI D)
  • Basic computer skills and documentation experience
  • Driver's license B

Meritorious

  • Experience working with people with mental disabilities
  • Experience with challenging behaviors and working with low-arousal responses, clarifying pedagogy, cognitive support, and AAC
  • Experience working with comorbidity/substance abuse and dependency

Additional information

Employment type: Permanent position with start date by agreement.
Scope: Full-time with shifts during days, evenings, and weekends.
