Your New Workplace

The Placement Unit is a central part of the social services' work for children and young people who, for various reasons, cannot remain with their birth families.

Our mission is to ensure that placed children and young people receive good care and support based on both basic and special needs.

The unit is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and developing foster home placements as well as for the recruitment, investigation, and training of foster homes, contact families, and contact persons. Within the Placement Unit, child caseworkers, foster home caseworkers, recruiters, and administrators work closely together. The Placement Unit exercises authority according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU).

The Placement Unit consists of two workgroups, Team South and Team North, each led by a unit manager, supported by coordinators who act as operational team leaders. We are now looking for a child caseworker for Team North.

Your Contribution as a Child Caseworker

The work is challenging, skill-enhancing, and offers opportunities for personal development. As a child caseworker, you will be the responsible case manager for a number of children and young people placed in foster care. Your primary task is to follow up on the child's development during the placement together with the foster home caseworker and to be responsible for all authority matters concerning the individual child under the support of the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). This involves regular follow-ups with the child as well as ongoing collaboration with the child's parents, foster home, school, and other networks. We place great emphasis on the participation of children and young people in their care, their health, schooling, and contact with their biological networks.

As a new employee, you will have access to a mentor and a gradual introduction to the various tasks. You will have good access to management and support in your work. We care about our work environment and the collegial support. You will be offered specific training in various methods such as ICDP and will be part of a regional training program for children and young people, which includes among other things, child conversations, risk and protective factors, and goal setting.

With us, you will have the opportunity to work according to the 6+2 working time model, which means 6 hours of workplace-based time per day. The other 2 hours are reserved for reflection, further education, and wellness activities. You will be offered the opportunity for vacation exchange where vacation day supplements are converted into additional vacation days.

Your Skills and Experience

For the position, you need to have a degree in social work and a B driver's license. We prefer that you have several years of experience in social work. You have a good ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish. You have basic knowledge of Word and Excel.

The following qualifications are considered advantageous:

• You have previous experience in social services authority work concerning children and young people.
• You have good knowledge of applicable legislation within the field.
• You have experience and knowledge in BBIC, MI, and ICDP.
• You have experience with the operational system Treserva.
• You have a good ability to express yourself in spoken and written English.

As a person, you easily adapt to changing circumstances while being structured and able to work purposefully. To succeed in the job, you need to have personal maturity, which means you are emotionally stable, have self-awareness, and are secure in yourself. You can distinguish between the personal and the professional. You have an empathetic ability and find it easy to collaborate.
