Your new workplace

The Placement Unit is a central part of the social services' work for children and young people who, for various reasons, cannot remain with their birth families.

Our mission is to ensure that placed children and young people receive good care and support based on both basic and special needs.

The unit is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and developing foster care placements, as well as for the recruitment, investigation, and training of foster homes, contact families, and contact persons. Within the Placement Unit, child caseworkers, foster care caseworkers, recruiters, and administrators work closely together. The Placement Unit exercises authority according to SoL and LVU.

The Placement Unit consists of two workgroups, Team South and Team North, each led by a unit manager, supported by coordinators who act as operational team leaders. We are now looking for a coordinator for Team North.

Your contribution as a coordinating social worker

As a coordinator, you are a central part of the operation and are responsible for ensuring that the handling of placed children and young people is efficient and legally secure. As a coordinator, you function as the unit's operational team leader. You supervise child caseworkers and foster care caseworkers. You lead operations and distribute cases and tasks. You provide support during high workloads and help prioritize. As a coordinator, you may need to support and take a more active role in complex cases.

You are responsible for methodological support and professional development within the unit and introduce new employees. Together with the unit manager, you provide support to strengthen employees' independence to contribute to sustainable social work. You are the operational support for the unit manager and represent the board in court cases.

You coordinate efforts, follow up and document the work, and ensure that legislation and procedures are followed. In the role of coordinator, you will receive regular external supervision.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work, and it is advantageous if you have relevant further education at the university level. You have several years of experience working within the authority of social services. We also expect you to have good knowledge of applicable legislation within the field. Experience in leadership is desirable.

You have a good ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and have basic knowledge of Word and Excel. We consider it an advantage if you can express yourself well in both spoken and written English and have experience with the operational system Treserva. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.

We are looking for someone who is confident in their leadership and has the ability to work operationally in a complex environment. You have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You set and adhere to deadlines. It is essential that you, as a coordinator, can collaborate with other authorities, actors, and internal units.
