Diocesan Assistant for Priest Recruitment

We are a welcoming and recruiting pilgrimage diocese, preparing for the church we want to see in the future. We are now looking for an experienced priest who wants to work with priest recruitment with us.

The position of diocesan assistant for priest recruitment is located in the unit Faith and Life, where today 13 employees have different roles in promoting worship, education, diaconia, and mission. This involves areas such as recruitment, worship development, church music, baptism and confirmation, Sami church life, pilgrimage, institutional pastoral care, pastoral care, the Church of Sweden's youth, and ideals.

Job Responsibilities

As a diocesan assistant for priest recruitment, your primary task is to support the priest students throughout their education. You will have individual conversations with priest students, conduct parts of the diocese's training, maintain contact with the educational institution and at the national level, and be responsible for administrative tasks related to the students.

You will coordinate work in a team with other colleagues who work with recruitment for church service. Together, you will plan and implement the diocese's commitments in relation to the students, such as internship courses, placements, admission conferences, ordination weekends, and more. An important partner is the bishop, who is ultimately responsible for the admission and ordination of priests and deacons.

You will be part of the diocese's development work for future strategic competence supply and will, for example, develop and implement external initiatives aimed at promoting the church's profile professions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with good empathetic skills. You are outgoing and socially active in professional contexts where you create contacts and maintain relationships. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have the ability to be self-sufficient and to plan, organize, and structure work effectively. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Ordained as a priest in the Church of Sweden
• Solid experience of working as a priest in a parish
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Driving license B

Meritorious

• Experience in a coordinating role for operations or pastoral development work

Working Hours/Place of Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment located at the diocesan chancery in Härnösand. The main working hours are daytime Monday to Friday according to the local collective agreement on annual working hours with a time bank. We apply half-day before public holidays and leave on bridge days. Travel may occur in the position, sometimes with overnight stays. Start date according to agreement.
