Job Responsibilities

As an assistance officer with us, you will play an important role in investigating and assessing the need for services according to the Social Services Act (https://www.riksdagen.se/sv/dokument-och-lagar/dokument/svensk-forfattningssamling/socialtjanstlag-2025400_sfs-2025-400/) for the municipality's citizens. You will work closely with citizens and relatives to ensure they receive the support they need in their daily lives, such as home care, security alarms, or special housing.

Your mission:

  • Receive applications for support according to the Social Services Act for the elderly and people with disabilities.
  • Investigate needs and make decisions about services such as home care, security alarms, or escorting.
  • Follow up and evaluate the services to ensure they meet the needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and providers to create the best solutions for our residents.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a degree in social work or another relevant university education that the employer assesses as equivalent, as well as a valid driver's license with category B.

It is meritorious if you:

  • Have experience working with investigations and authority exercises within social services.
  • Have experience working according to BBIC or IBIC.
  • Have experience working in Procapita or LifeCare.

In addition to formal qualifications, we will place great importance on personal suitability.

  • Can understand people's life situations, needs, and goals, and can translate them into concrete services.

  • Have good communication skills in both speech and writing.

We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sámi varieties as Örnsköldsvik municipality is part of both Finnish and Sámi administrative areas.

In our municipality, a number of positions are placed in security class, so a security review may be conducted. These positions require Swedish citizenship.
