Within the Department of Children and Education, our approximately 3,000 employees meet around 14,000 children and students in more than 100 preschools and schools throughout the municipality every day. Every child and student in Sundsvall Municipality's preschools and schools should be able to develop, learn, and achieve their goals based on their own conditions. Your New Workplace

In 2025, four school social teams will be established in Sundsvall.

The schools currently having school social teams are Höglunda, Haga, Bergsåker, and Sundsvall Gymnasium, Västermalm. The school social teams consist of two employees: one from the Department of Children and Education and one from the Department of Individual and Labor Market.

We are now looking for two new employees, one of whom will belong to the Department of Individual and Labor Market and the other to the Department of Children and Education. You will complement each other from the perspectives of the school and social services to support students, families, and schools. Your primary workplace will be at one of the schools mentioned above.

Your Contribution as a Curator and Family Counselor

In the school social team, you will work preventively and with early interventions to increase school attendance and strengthen students' opportunities to achieve their educational goals in primary school. The work is carried out in close collaboration with schools, social services, guardians, and other stakeholders. The focus is on providing support to the student, family, and school, both individually and in groups.

Your tasks may include:

• Coordinating the support the student receives from various stakeholders.
• Offering psychosocial support, motivational conversations, social training, and help in creating structure in daily life.
• Supporting and guiding guardians.
• Working preventively and promoting on an individual and group level, for example, through training for parent groups, professional development for school staff, or activities for student groups.
• Continuing to develop the work with school social teams together with the other teams.

Your Competence and Experience

You who are applying are a social worker, behavioral scientist, or have another relevant university education that the employer deems appropriate. It is advantageous if you have several years of experience in psychosocial treatment work and in social services or schools.

Desirable qualifications:

• Further education in systems theory or CBT

As a person, you are flexible, solution-oriented, and engaged, and you easily adapt to changing circumstances. You have good personal maturity, which means you are emotionally stable, self-aware, and secure in yourself. You can distinguish between the personal and the professional. You have a good empathetic ability, are easy to collaborate with, and have a curious and exploratory attitude.

To work with us, you need to have a B driver's license.
