At the Planning Unit in Norrtälje, you will find a warm and welcoming team of urban planners, comprehensive planners, environmental planners, and ecologists. We have close collaboration with other units. Your workplace will be in the municipal building in Norrtälje, just a stone's throw from the bus station, making it easily accessible even for those who commute. There will also be opportunities to work from home some days to help with the daily puzzle.

The Assignment

In the role of urban planner, you will independently drive your planning processes forward and be responsible for the formal handling from start to adopted detailed plan. Planning work is teamwork, and we see collaboration with colleagues both within and outside the unit as a given. This requires you to coordinate and support external parties as well. Since urban planners participate in many different types of processes related to physical planning, you will collaborate with developers, property owners, and residents.

A large part of your working hours will be spent on detailed planning processes, with each planner managing several parallel planning processes. You will also be involved in or lead initiatives and development work as well as feasibility studies. Within the unit, we have several forums for collaboration and competency support. Since all assignments are unique, you will have a varied job with development opportunities.

What You Need to Bring

Requirements

You are a university-educated urban planner/physical planner, or equivalent, with many years of experience in the detailed planning process. Throughout your career, you have had both client and authority contact and gained an understanding of the trade-offs that need to be made between vision and regulatory requirements. You need to have a B driver's license.

Meritorious

You take initiative and enjoy collaborating with others. You are solution-oriented and have the ability to solve complex problems from a broader perspective. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
