Summer Camp at Stenfasta

This summer, Stockholms Stadsmission invites you to our idyllic summer camp at Stenfasta in Sörmland. For six weeks, children, youth, and their families will experience summer at its best. Do you want to be part of this wonderful summer experience?

Our summer camp offers families with children aged 0-18 years a summer holiday camp for 6 weeks.

We also have family camps during the spring school holidays and a couple of weekends in March.

The Role of Camp Leader

As a camp leader, you have overall responsibility for the families and the activities that take place during the camp stay. You are a safe, stable, and predictable role model for the children and youth, working in line with the values of Stockholms Stadsmission. The job includes ensuring that the children and their families feel comfortable, as well as planning and executing various types of activities during the participants' camp stay. Some cleaning and maintenance of common areas is also required, as well as preparing breakfast, snacks, and refreshments.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has completed or is currently pursuing a degree in social work/behavioral science/leisure leadership/social pedagogy/teaching or similar
  • Has experience working with children and youth
  • Can swim and is willing to swim with the participants

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with summer camps
  • Speaks more languages than Swedish and English
  • Has a driver's license and experience driving a car

You are passionate about working with children and their parents and appreciate a varied environment. You are responsible, service-oriented, and possess strong creative and pedagogical abilities. It is important that you can create new contacts and instill safety and trust in the target group.

To succeed in this role, you are well-organized and can work in a structured manner with both planning and execution of the camp. You will work closely with your colleagues, where you are expected to contribute energy, be proactive, and have good collaboration skills. You enjoy working outdoors with varied tasks; no day is the same at camp. You need to be able to adapt and work flexibly when unforeseen events arise. You are driven by the desire to contribute to a more inclusive society and value issues related to children's rights and health.

Other Information

  • We of course have a collective agreement (Health, care, and other social services)
  • Scope: 2-3 mandatory training days in May and work at camp during 2-5 periods in summer 2026
  • To work with children and youth, we always require a background check, regardless of employment form.

SUMMER CAMP PERIODS:

The periods are consecutive, meaning that you as a camp leader need to be able to work two periods in a row, either 1 & 2, 3 & 4, or 5 & 6. You need to be able to work at least two periods and a maximum of four periods. See below.
