WE WANT SWEDEN'S HAPPIEST RESIDENTS. ARE YOU WITH US?
In Flen Municipality, we are committed to building something long-term. A community where people thrive, grow, and stay. Our new and bold vision, Flen – Sweden's happiest municipality, is more than just words. It is a direction we have chosen together and a reminder of who we are here for. In every interaction with a resident, in every decision we make, in every day we shape – we will think with our hearts. And it starts with us. We are now looking for an individual and family counselor for the support and intervention unit, which is under the Department of Children, Youth, and Adults.
HERE ARE YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In the role of individual and family counselor, you will work preventively and operationally with children, youth, and their networks. The assignment involves active and outreach work where you proactively identify needs, provide information, advice, and guidance, and offer early interventions and measures without means testing, with the aim of strengthening individuals and families at an early stage.
You will coordinate and develop preventive work in close collaboration with schools, leisure activities, the police, and civil society, among others through SSPF, SIG, and the school social team. The role also includes work with ANDTS issues, violence prevention, and fieldwork. Through early and targeted interventions, you contribute to preventing problem development and reducing the need for more extensive and investigation-requiring interventions later on. Since this is a new position, tasks and methods may develop and change based on the needs of the organization.
FOR THIS ROLE, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO:
- Have a degree in social work or behavioral science with at least 15 credits in social law and social work at the basic level (7.5 credits) and advanced level (7.5 credits).
- Have good digital competence and documented ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.
- Have documented experience working as a family supporter or family therapist within social services, or as an investigator within children and youth in social services.
- Have documented experience working within SSPF (school, social services, police, and leisure) and SIG (social intervention groups).
- Have documented experience of conducting training and lectures for larger groups.
- Have a valid driver's license (B).
WE HIGHLY VALUE:
- You have experience working in public sector and have a good understanding of how a politically governed organization operates.
- You have experience with BBIC and IBIC.
- You have experience in violence prevention.
- Training in Signs of Safety.
YOUR PERSONAL QUALITIES
As our environment and operations are constantly changing, we are looking for someone who is creative, development-oriented, and courageous, with the ability to prioritize and work systematically. You can work independently, take your own initiatives, and ensure that you complete and follow up on what you start. At the same time, you find it easy to collaborate, are analytical, and have a positive attitude. We are looking for an employee with the right attitude and mindset, who shares Flen Municipality's values and vision. We place great importance on personal suitability.
WHY WORK WITH US?
In Flen Municipality, we want to give you good conditions to thrive both at work and outside of it. We offer, among other things, vacation exchange, wellness grants, and reimbursement for patient fees up to the high-cost protection – and there are more benefits than that. Many of our workplaces also have good commuting opportunities. You can read more about what it is like to work with us on the municipality's website: flen.se.
At the support and intervention unit, you will be part of a strong and committed team with collective and extensive experience. Here, there is a generous exchange of knowledge, where colleagues share their expertise and support each other in everyday life. The team consists of employees of different ages, which creates both stability and development power. We have a strong commitment and drive in the organization and see the new social services act as an opportunity for positive change. Together, we want to develop new working methods and take the next step towards a more preventive and accessible social service.
