Within the education and labor market administration, we have preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, secondary schools, adapted secondary schools, reception units for newly arrived students, municipal activity responsibility, adult education, cultural schools, technical schools, central child and student health, labor market units, and a campus for higher studies.

Professions included in the central child and student health are social workers, speech therapists, psychologists, special educators, school nurses, and school doctors. The unit is responsible for child and student health teams for preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, secondary schools, and adapted secondary schools. Since the start of the school year in August 2025, there has been an organization with five overarching student health teams aimed at creating good conditions for principals to lead and develop their student health work. “Student Health in Focus” is a new forum for principals and all professionals in the student health teams aimed at developing preventive and health-promoting student health work through dialogue and creating equity in student health work. Collaboration with all professionals and units within the education and labor market administration and other administrations in the municipality is essential for the central Child and Student Health. Active work is ongoing to build bridges between the administration's various activities and the municipality's other administrations. Since September 2024, the psychosocial part of the Youth Center's activities has also been included under the umbrella of central Child and Student Health.

Child and student health serves as an important link between the municipality's various administrations, all municipalities in the region, and Region Sörmland. Katrineholm municipality conducts active health-promoting work with Pep municipality within the framework of Generation Pep, which has received national attention. Together for the best for children in Sörmland is a collaboration model for early interventions for children and young people aged 0–18 years, encompassing Region Sörmland's health care, municipal social services, and preschools/schools.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a social worker for the central child and student health. Together with the unit manager, deputy unit manager, principals, the group of social workers, and in cross-professional collaboration in the student health team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping the assignment to best match our existing competencies and meet the needs of the schools. Our development work is practice-oriented and based on scientific principles and proven experience.

As a social worker, you contribute the psychosocial perspective in student health work through supervision and consultation. You carry out health-promoting and preventive measures and evaluate and develop these. Your approach is practice-oriented and characterized by collaboration, responsiveness, and commitment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another higher education that the employer finds equivalent. You have good knowledge of the preventive and health-promoting tasks of student health, and you have experience in systematic change and development work. Since the work involves communication and documentation, you must be proficient in the Swedish language in both speech and writing. A driver's license for manual transmission is required as a car is used in the service.

You work solution-focused, build and maintain good relationships, and have the ability to create engagement in various contexts. The assignment involves collaboration in various forms, which means you have the ability to be both self-driven and possess good collaborative skills.
