About Us

The Psychosis Department is an acute psychiatric ward with 13 beds, primarily aimed at the care of individuals suffering from psychosis. The care is designed from a holistic perspective, considering the individual's unique needs and overall life situation. The department offers pharmacological treatment, ECT (electroconvulsive therapy), supportive conversations, and care based on person-centered care.

We are approximately 27 people working in the department, consisting of nurses, caregivers, and doctors. You will collaborate with the care team and the physician, as well as outpatient care, with the goal of providing each unique individual with good care. At the Psychosis Department, we continuously strive to provide and develop person-centered care, which we believe you want to be a part of.

Your Responsibilities

Based on person-centered care, you will work with the patient and in consultation with colleagues and possibly the patient's relatives and guardians to address the patient's socio-economic and psychosocial needs from a holistic perspective. This includes support for relatives and conversations with the patient, as well as inquiring about children and pets. You should also be able to participate in various meetings, such as SIP, rounds, network and planning meetings, as well as APT and planning days.

Furthermore, you will have a coordinating role that includes collaboration with Psychiatric Outpatient Care, the Social Insurance Agency, the Guardianship Authority, the Population Register, and Karsudden's Forensic Psychiatry, as well as various municipal agencies such as the Assistance Office, Financial Support, and Social Services. Your work will also involve activities with the patient outside the ward, such as visits to authorities, the Social Insurance Agency, or the bank. You will assist the patient in applying for various types of benefits, sickness compensation, guardianship, and debt restructuring. Additionally, you will help the patient fill out forms, call authorities, apply for new ID documents, and find out if there is existing housing and assist with address changes. The job also includes determining if an employment decision is needed and checking if a medical certificate is required for the employer.

Your Qualifications

For the position, it is required that you, in addition to your professional knowledge, can work both independently and in a team. You should be able to take initiative, be flexible, and have good collaboration skills. You should be an educated health and medical care curator, preferably with previous experience in psychiatry. Experience, good references, genuine commitment, a desire to develop care, and good communication skills are advantageous. Personal qualities are highly valued. A valid driver's license (B) is beneficial.
