Personal Assistant Wanted

Are you full of imagination, mischief, patience, and security?

Do you have great empathy and the ability to read moods and feelings? Then you might be just the person we are looking for!

We are seeking personal assistants for a young woman who, together with her parents and the family’s two cats, will move to Lycksele in March.

She has communication difficulties, developmental disabilities, self-harming behavior, and some autism. The job includes all daily tasks such as personal hygiene and cooking, as well as activities like swimming, dining out, and outdoor activities.

For us, it is more important to have common sense, a good view of people, and a good personal chemistry than to have formal education or experience in the profession of personal assistant.

There is a fragrance allergy in the family, so it is important that you do not use strong scents at the workplace and that you do not smoke during working hours.

Individual and flexible scheduling based on the user's needs, while also considering the employee's wishes. Since a whole work group will be built up, both larger and smaller positions can be considered – please indicate in your application how large a position you would like.

Common to the positions is that you start as an hourly employee and then transition to a “fixed-term employment as long as the assignment lasts” position when it feels right for both the user, assistant, and the remaining work team.

Night shifts will be added when it feels secure between the user and the assistant. We believe that you who are applying see this as a long-term commitment.

For this user, we are looking for female assistants.

Due to the user’s reduced ability to handle sensory impressions, we use a long onboarding process. Interviews may take place before the application deadline. Work starts as agreed.

GIL has coordinated personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has heritage from the Independent Living movement, which is based on the principle that those with disabilities know best how they want to live their lives. Normally, the person entitled to assistance is the closest supervisor of the assistants, or a person with special knowledge about the person entitled to assistance is appointed.

As a personal assistant, you support a person with a disability to live the life they want to live. To attract and retain competent and satisfied assistants, we invest in training and events. We believe that development and meeting others lead to motivated and secure assistants who enjoy working with us.

  • GIL has a collective agreement with Fremia-communal.
  • GIL offers its employees up to 2,500 SEK/year in contributions for wellness and health.
  • GIL applies individual salary setting. Salary according to agreement.
  • At a possible interview, you are expected to present a criminal record extract.

Please submit your application as soon as possible as selection is ongoing! Good luck!
