The Post-Care Department of Medicine cares for patients who have been medically treated at the hospital but are waiting for municipal care or examination. We are constantly looking ahead to meet the needs of our patients and are continuously expanding our admission criteria and working methods. Therefore, it is important that you, who want to work with us, are open to change.

We currently have seven care places staffed by nursing assistants. We have close collaboration with pharmacists and nurses in other departments of the hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant with us, you and your colleagues share a common responsibility for ensuring that patients receive the basic and specific care required. Since the department is staffed by nursing assistants, you will also have the opportunity for specifically delegated tasks such as medication delegation. With us, you as a nursing assistant will play a significant role in shaping the department's routines, training, and work environment together with your colleagues and unit manager. You will have a lot of contact with other areas of the hospital as well as the municipality.

Your working hours will include day, evening, and night shifts as well as weekdays and weekends. We use a wish schedule that allows you to create a schedule that you then adjust together with your colleagues to ensure the department is staffed around the clock.

QUALIFICATIONS

Do you want to provide the best possible care to patients together with your colleagues? Then we believe you have good prerequisites to thrive with us. We welcome you who have an approved education as a nursing assistant. You have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have experience in the profession, and we particularly appreciate previous experience in municipal care. We use IT support as much as possible to facilitate care and free up time for personal interaction, so it is beneficial if you are accustomed to working in various operational systems.

As a person, you are secure and meticulous in your professional role. With your positive attitude, you create a good working climate together with your colleagues. Furthermore, it is important for you to meet patients with humility and respect based on their needs. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

OTHER

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title of nursing assistant within care and nursing. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. At any interview/employment, you will need to present proof of the protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not currently have a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or are covered by transitional provisions, it means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant and not nursing assistant.
