The Health, Care and Social Services Administration's health-promoting and preventive work involves both general and targeted interventions for specific target groups. The preventive work focuses on various forms of collaboration to reach seniors in Malmö based on their different needs and conditions.

The elderly population in Malmö is increasing, and to meet the various challenges and needs associated with this, new working methods need to be developed. Our mission is to ensure that Malmö residents can maintain good health and quality of life, thereby delaying the need for care and support services. One of the cornerstones of this important work is fall prevention.

Job Responsibilities

The Department of Health and Prevention has a special mission to increase the quality of life and combat involuntary loneliness among the elderly. The fall prevention work aimed at senior Malmö residents is under the unit for Health-Promoting Interventions. The fall prevention work should be developed in a way that promotes the administration's common preventive efforts. Individual participation and co-creation should be encouraged, and the preventive work should be designed based on individual needs.

In 2025, we will have a new social services act that increasingly highlights the importance of health-promoting and preventive work. In this position, you will be part of the development that the health and prevention department has ahead of it. In 2025, the department will implement the FINGER model, and together with your colleagues, you will be part of working on how this model should be used for Malmö residents.

You are expected to collaborate both internally and externally and contribute with your expertise to the development of various preventive and health-promoting interventions.

You will work together with physiotherapists within the fall prevention work and within a team of various professionals regarding outreach work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed occupational therapist or licensed physiotherapist. Knowledge and experience working with the elderly is a requirement. You should also be comfortable leading group training and speaking in front of groups as well as conducting individual conversations. We would also like you to have experience in development work and/or project management.

As the position requires you to move around the city, it is a requirement that you can cycle. You also need to have good computer skills and be able to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing.

You who apply should be able to take your own initiatives and perform independent work while creating the structure required for the job. You are creative and see opportunities instead of obstacles.
