Residential Support Worker at Björnbacken

We are now looking for a residential support worker for a temporary position in our housing and support group at Björnbacken, starting as soon as possible!

As residential staff and support worker, you will work supportively and motivationally based on the structured collaboration model of Care and Support Coordination (VSS), with the goal that the user themselves directs the formulation of their goals and strengthens their own ability to manage their daily life more independently.

This can be done, for example, through conversations or by doing everyday tasks together such as cooking, cleaning, or exercising.

Support and coordination in healthcare and authority contacts are a large part of the work. We work based on feedback using the Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) method, which aims to give the user the opportunity to evaluate and significantly influence their support and its design. The housing and support team operates on behalf of the care and social services administration with the aim of best supporting and coordinating efforts for people with mental/neuropsychiatric disabilities. Support is provided based on assistance decisions and is structured according to a joint planning in an implementation plan.

You, along with a colleague, will be a contact person for some of our users and therefore have a significant role in their network. In the work, motivation work, structure, network building, documentation, meaningful everyday life, and collaboration are key words! The group consists of 12 support staff and one coordinator. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. We offer a workplace with good development opportunities and friendly colleagues. Qualifications

You who are applying have relevant upper secondary education or a post-secondary education relevant to the field, such as pedagogical education, treatment or activation pedagogy, social work, or other education that the employer may consider equivalent.

A requirement for the position is that you have knowledge and experience from working with one or more of the following target groups: people with mental/neuropsychiatric disabilities, other disabilities, co-occurring disorders/dependency.

It is advantageous to have training or knowledge in Care and Support Coordination (VSS), motivational interviewing (MI), low-arousal approach, and the feedback method FIT. A driver's license is desirable.

In the role of residential support worker, a very good ability to collaborate is required to achieve results together with the user. As a person, you enjoy working with people and are good at organizing and planning your time. You are motivated to support and lead people in change in a pedagogical way. You are patient and understand that all change work takes time. We place great emphasis on personal suitability where flexibility and the ability to collaborate are of particular importance. Likewise, the ability to work independently.

Björnbacken is a housing and support team that works with housing support for users in ordinary housing throughout the municipality, as well as in a special housing for 11 users. The people we support have mental and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities, sometimes with co-occurring disorders. Support is provided based on the Social Services Act. The residence is located at Björndammens square with proximity to good bus connections to, among others, Partille Center and Gothenburg.
