The tasks include:

As a systems engineer in platform and infrastructure, you are a key person in the operation of Generic's business-critical environments. The role combines operational responsibility with development and improvement of systems, networks, and platforms, as well as on-call duties according to schedule and support for colleagues and customer service as needed.

• You will work with:
• Operation, troubleshooting, and improvement of Linux-based systems
• Networking and security: routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN
• Container and virtualization environments (e.g., Kubernetes)
• Change management: planning, execution, documentation, and rollback
• Monitoring, incident management, and root cause analysis
• Security and compliance, including according to ISO 27001
• Third-line support to customer service and internal teams for more complex issues

Simple practical tasks in the data center may occur during changes or incidents, but are not the main focus of the role.

You will be based at one of Generic's operations offices or data centers and report to, and work closely with, Generic's CTO Fredrik.

We are looking for someone who:
We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You are self-driven, structured, and take responsibility for your systems. You work methodically when troubleshooting, document clearly, and are used to making decisions even when the information is incomplete.

You are comfortable in technical environments, communicate clearly in both Swedish and English, and thrive in roles where you can combine operational work with long-term improvements.

Expected experience

• Linux in production (troubleshooting, network services, logs, packages)
• Networking: switching/routing, VLAN, BGP/OSPF (basic)
• Firewalls and VPN: policy/ACL, NAT, IPsec/SSL-VPN
• Monitoring and incident management (alarms, analysis, runbooks)
• Change management in business-critical environments

Desirable experience

• Container platforms: Kubernetes, containers
• Automation: Ansible, Bash, and/or Python
• Virtualization: VMware or equivalent
• Firewall products such as Fortinet or WatchGuard
• Experience from telecom, CPaaS, or environments with high demands for data integrity
• On-call duties or work in fast-paced and responsible environments
