About Unika LSS Care
  • We operate three services within LSS located in two locations - Växjö and Hovmantorp - aimed at individuals with:

  • Group 1: intellectual disabilities and/or autism

  • Group 3: permanent physical or mental disabilities that cause significant difficulties in daily living

Each service accommodates 6 users, and our methodological work is based on the fundamental principles of LSS. About the role of Support Assistant

Do you want a rewarding and fun job where you make a significant difference? Unika LSS is now looking for temporary staff and summer staff for our three services located in two different locations - two in Växjö and one in Hovmantorp. In your application, it is important that you specify which of our services you are applying for.

As a support assistant, you are a safe and present person in the user's daily life. You are there to create structure, clarity, and participation - and to contribute to making each day as meaningful as possible. The role includes providing support based on the user's individual needs, both practical tasks and in strengthening self-esteem, security, and self-determination.

Job responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting users in activities and social participation

  • Creating opportunities for an active and meaningful leisure time

  • Supporting and guiding with personal care

  • Medication management

  • Assisting with household chores such as cleaning, laundry, and cooking

  • Planning and carrying out purchases, e.g., food

  • Documentation

It is crucial that you can follow established structures and routines to create predictability and offer users a safe, understandable, and clear daily life. You are professional, present, attentive, and see each individual - and you are there when needed.

Qualifications

You are relationship-building, calm, stable, and can maintain a realistic perspective on situations that arise in daily work. You have good collaboration skills and relate to others in a responsive manner and enjoy collaborating with others. You are an independent, humble, and responsible person who is passionate about care work and can see the individual's needs.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:
  • Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

  • Good knowledge of LSS

  • Good computer skills, experience in documentation.

  • Good knowledge of clear pedagogical methods and low-arousal approaches

  • Previous experience in care and support

  • High school education such as child and leisure program, care and support program, or post-secondary education such as support pedagogue, social pedagogue, or university education in a relevant field.

It is an advantage if you also have:
  • Experience in psychiatry, AAC, and low-arousal approaches.

  • Worked with complex support needs.

Employment conditions

Employment type: Temporary employment, substitute Working hours: Part-time at varying percentages Working time: day/evening/weekend/night (both sleeping on-call and awake night) Start date: By agreement, we look favorably on if you can start shortly. Collective agreement: We are bound by the collective agreement with Vårdföretagarna/Kommunal, Branch E.

About the recruitment process

Before any employment, an extract from the criminal record (HVB and preferably digital) along with valid photo identification must be presented. If you are called for an interview, you need to be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden by showing that you have citizenship within the EU/EES or a valid work permit.
