As a Technical Specialist in Civil Engineering at the Swedish Transport Administration, you will help facilitate the everyday lives of residents and businesses across Sweden. You do this by contributing to the infrastructure of the future.

Technical Specialist in Civil Engineering in SolnaResponsibilities

In this role, you have a central task as a technical specialist and advisor in our investment projects. You collaborate closely with project members and various technical areas to develop the best solutions regarding technical aspects, environment, life cycle costs, and societal benefits.

You support the projects with:

  • technical expertise during procurement and implementation of investment projects - from early planning to construction phase and follow-up of established requirements
  • review and control of technical solutions
  • advice to the Swedish Transport Administration's project management as well as consultants and contractors

You will have the opportunity to influence the role of the Swedish Transport Administration as an active client and contribute to ongoing development and environmental monitoring within your area. The role also involves strategic work with routines and regulations, and you will become part of a national network of civil engineering specialists, which creates good opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

As a person, you have a good ability to communicate with your surroundings and can convey your knowledge in a pedagogical way. You are unpretentious and have good collaboration and problem-solving skills. You see the whole picture from several aspects such as technology, production methods, environment, law, and economics. The position also requires good analytical skills, self-sufficiency, and the ability to build long-term relationships both internally and externally.

You are motivated by an active employee role where you responsibly take charge of your tasks while being aware of how you are part of and contribute to the whole by collaborating with others.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on infrastructure/road and water construction, or other education combined with relevant experience that we consider equivalent
  • several years of current experience in preparing structural calculations for bridge constructions or extensive experience and knowledge in bridge constructions combined with leading or coordinating roles in preparing documents for all phases
  • good and relevant knowledge of industry documents, applicable regulations, and frameworks within the subject area
  • experience in the design of road and/or railway construction
  • good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
  • a driver's license

It is an advantage if you have:

  • professional experience as a technical manager or project manager regarding civil engineering
  • current professional experience from the control of structural reporting regarding civil engineering in accordance with the Swedish Transport Administration's regulations
