At the Swedish Transport Administration, you help facilitate the everyday life of residents and businesses across Sweden. You do this by contributing to the infrastructure of the future.

Technical Specialist in Civil Engineering

In this role, you have a central assignment as a technical specialist and advisor in our investment projects. You collaborate closely with project members and various subject areas to develop the best solutions regarding technical aspects, environment, life cycle costs, and societal benefits.

You will primarily work in the Ostlänken program, focusing on the construction documentation phase and production, but the position may also involve assignments in other investment projects.

In your role, you will support projects with:

• review and control of technical solutions
• advice to project management and contractors
• participation in procurement and implementation of investment projects - from early planning stages to construction and follow-up of set requirements

You will have the opportunity to influence the Swedish Transport Administration's role as an active client and contribute to ongoing development and environmental monitoring in your area. The role also involves strategic work with routines and regulations, and you will become part of a national network of civil engineering specialists, creating good opportunities for professional development.

The position may involve site visits along the Ostlänken as needed.

As a person, you have good communication skills and can convey knowledge and information in a pedagogical manner. The role involves a lot of contact with internal and external parties, so we see that you are confident, unpretentious, and have good collaboration skills. The position also requires strong analytical skills and the ability to make trade-offs between conflicting interests, e.g., between technology, economy, production methods, or environment. It is important to apply your experience and competence in interpreting regulations in relation to current situations.

We are looking for someone who has:

• a civil engineering degree in civil engineering/road and water construction, or another education combined with relevant experience that we deem equivalent
• several years of current experience in preparing structural calculations for bridge constructions or several years of experience and knowledge in bridge constructions combined with leading or coordinating roles in preparing documents for all phases
• good and relevant knowledge of industry documents regarding regulations and frameworks in the field of civil engineering
• experience in the design of road and/or railway construction
• very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• good knowledge of English in speech and writing
• a valid driver's license for passenger cars

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience in contract and/or client roles
• worked as a technical manager or project manager regarding civil engineering
• current work experience from the control of structural reporting regarding civil engineering in accordance with the Swedish Transport Administration's regulations
