We are now looking for a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities at Hyddans adapted primary and secondary school. We offer training and several benefits.
At Nytida, we are in constant development. With us, you can grow as a person while making a difference for others. Our culture is permeated by our values – respect, responsibility, simplicity, and knowledge.
This is what you get with us:
The opportunity to work in small teaching groups with high staff density.
A common pedagogy to provide the best care and support to our students.
Basic training when you are permanently employed within Nytida and professional development through our own educational organization, Lära.
Benefits portal with discounts and offers.
Coaching and supportive managers close to you.
Career and development opportunities.
We also have collective agreements, occupational pensions, insurance, wellness grants, and shoe allowances.
Your role According to our educational framework, we work with the individual at the center. In the role of a teacher, you will plan, implement, and follow up on your teaching and the students' learning. It is also important to create a close collaboration with the guardians of the students and other important people in the students' network.
You will participate in continuous teacher meetings and take an active role in developing the operations together with the entire school team.
About Hyddans school
Hyddans school is an adapted primary and secondary school located in the countryside a bit outside Jönköping. With us, you will find a fantastic group with strong community and high competence for our very exciting target group. The school currently has 11 students aged 7-21 years and a high staff density. The school is located close to nature, near services, and public transport with good connections to Jönköping.
The students at Hyddan have a diagnosis of intellectual disabilities (moderate/severe) in combination with autism (level 3 or 2), which means that the students have extensive support needs in all aspects of daily life. Most of the students also have a language disorder and often exhibit challenging behaviors. This can include outwardly aggressive behaviors, hyperactivity, and self-harming behaviors. We operate under the assumption that everyone has a personal pedagogical design.
Many of our students live within Nytida, which means we have a close collaboration with Nytida's children's and youth residences where everyone focuses on the individual. Several of our students have had a difficult school experience, and turning their experience of schooling into something positive is incredibly important and motivating for us. We focus on strengths, interests, and dreams to ensure that each student feels a desire and motivation for learning.
Your experience and knowledge We are looking for someone who is a qualified special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities and has experience working in an adapted school/with the target group.
You need to have very good knowledge of Swedish, both written and spoken, which is very important, so if you do not meet this criterion, we ask you not to apply for this position. Since the oldest students at the school can be around 20-21 years old, it is an advantage if you are older than them.
As a person, you are structured, unpretentious, and flexible. You have a clear and low-arousal approach. You have the ability to see students' different needs and strengths and to manage and follow up on operations based on the company's pedagogical goals, vision, and financial frameworks. We place great importance on personal suitability.
