Our department consists of 24 care places where we care for acutely ill patients with primarily surgical and medical diseases, but also cardiology, urology, infection, pulmonary medicine, and psychiatry are part of our everyday life. To thrive with us, you should enjoy a fast pace with rapid changes and varied work with short care processes.
The medical area is one of the university hospital's largest and is organizationally divided into five sections: endocrinology and diabetes, gastroenterology, hematology, nephrology, and general internal medicine. Here, patients with diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, blood diseases, kidney diseases, as well as patients needing acute internal medical care, often elderly and multi-sick patients, are cared for. Each section has an outpatient clinic. There are also three wards for admitted patients.
Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the county's three acute hospitals where we provide advanced medical care, research, and education. Both in 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award for Best University Hospital from Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most significant category for medical quality, had the best results in the categories of accessibility, economy, and the category of avoiding pressure sores and overcrowding. USÖ also tops the results in the areas of heart, kidney failure, and vascular surgery. USÖ has about 3500 employees. Assistant Nurse, Acute Care Department, USÖJob ResponsibilitiesAs an assistant nurse with us, you will be part of the team around the patient working with care, investigations, medical treatments, as well as daytime social planning and rounds. Your tasks include care and actively participating in rounds with the responsibility your profession has here in our department. Guidance of students and colleagues based on experience level. We expect you to be interested in being involved in the department's operational development, take personal responsibility, and work with us towards our goals.

Working hours: 100% day and evening, with night shifts as needed. We use a business-driven wish schedule that allows you to influence the scheduling of working hours.

QualificationsWe welcome you who are a trained assistant nurse, preferably with a focus on acute care according to the previous program structure, or are a trained assistant nurse within the current program structure. To assess employability, transcripts of your nursing education and proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare of a protected professional title must be attached to your application.
You should be adaptable to changing circumstances and the varied pace of work that working in an acute care department entails. Your patient focus is strong. Proficiency in the Swedish language in both spoken and written form is a requirement. We would also like you to have previous work experience, and if you have experience working in an inpatient ward, it is a significant plus. We place great emphasis on overall personal suitability.
