About the Position
As an occupational therapist with us, you will work with patient groups of different ages living in regular housing. The work consists of varied tasks which provide opportunities for diversity and challenges. You will support activity training, adaptations of both the physical and social environment, and the testing of assistive devices. Our task is to help patients achieve their own goals so that they can be as independent as possible at home. We work in teams together with other professional categories, but you will also have a close collaboration with occupational therapist colleagues.
Examples of Tasks:
- work with the patient's needs at the center based on a person-centered approach to enable as independent a life as possible for the individual
- assess the need for occupational therapy according to the occupational therapy process
- collaborate with other professionals to create individual care plans that are documented
- educate, inform, and guide nursing staff, students, and other professionals
- prescribe and test assistive devices
- write certificates for applications for housing adaptations
- work independently and in teams with colleagues and other professional categories
- document in the operational system
About the Workplace
Home Healthcare West is based in a shared location centrally located in western Örebro. Our unit consists of just over 40 employees, of which 15 are occupational therapists. Our catchment area includes both urban and rural settings, in a varied and pleasant area. We travel by both bicycle and car to our patients.
Home healthcare is organized within the Social Administration's area of Care and Support. The operations include care and support, preventive activities, regulatory activities in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the area of Care and Support, we work to support people to live a healthy life and continue to participate in community life on their own terms.

Qualifications
As an occupational therapist, you are confident in yourself and have good self-awareness. You enjoy having your own areas of responsibility and take responsibility for your tasks in an independent and structured way. You will have a lot of contact with patients, relatives, and staff, which requires you to be clear in your communication and to have a good approach that creates trusting relationships. Furthermore, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities and solutions in what you face. Additionally, you master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with patients and other staff, as well as document what the operation requires. Since the work involves digital documentation in the operational system, good computer skills are required.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- licensed occupational therapist
- B driver's license for manual transmission
- ability to cycle
Meritorious:
- experience working as an occupational therapist
- experience in municipal health and medical care
- experience documenting in operational systems
Scope and Start Date
Employment type: temporary position
Employment rate: 100%
Start date: by agreement - until August 31 with a possible extension
