About the position

As a nursing assistant with us at Home Healthcare Sydost, you will be offered an exciting job with patient groups of various ages. The assignment consists of varied tasks which provide opportunities for diversity and challenges.

You will work closely with nurses as well as with home care services. You will independently perform actions on behalf of the nurse, such as taking samples and changing dressings.

For us, quality and good care are important, and as an employee with us, you are expected to contribute and participate in our development work. Together, we are responsible for ensuring that the work maintains good quality and that we follow the guidelines and decisions that accompany the assignment.

Examples of tasks:

• various forms of sampling
• various types of dressings, e.g. wounds
• compression treatment of legs
• flushing catheters and urine drainage
• blood pressure and pulse monitoring
• keeping order in storage and ordering consumables
• providing personal care and service based on the patient's individual needs

About the workplace

Home Healthcare Sydost is one of five home healthcare areas in Örebro municipality. Our catchment area consists of urban and rural settings in a varied and pleasant area. We operate from Landbotorpsallen 17 F, the same building as Ängens healthcare center.

In Home Healthcare Sydost, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, and nurses work together. Here, there is close access to collegial support as we are a large unit where all employees work from shared premises centrally located in the south.

The area of care and support is part of the Social Administration. The operation includes care and support, preventive activities, authority exercise in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the area of Care and Support, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As a nursing assistant with us, you are a secure and stable person. You have the ability to meet patients in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. Taking responsibility for your tasks is a given for you. You collaborate well with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. Furthermore, you have a positive view of people with great respect for each individual's needs. Additionally, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with customers and other staff, as well as document in writing what the operation requires. Since the work involves digital documentation in operational systems, good computer skills are required.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• proof of protected professional title, or be covered by the transitional regulations (permanently employed nursing assistant as of July 1, 2023)
• experience from work in health and medical care (e.g. sampling, dressing changes)
• driver's license B, manual transmission
• ability to cycle

Meritorious:

• experience in a representative role
• experience working in documentation and operational systems (e.g. Lifecare)

Start date: by agreement - until September 30, 2026

Working hours: scheduled weekdays including public holidays that fall on weekdays

Other information

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as a nursing assistant. While waiting for your proof, it is possible to be employed as a care assistant. However, if you had a permanent position as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
