About the Role and Your Responsibilities

The Family Counseling Service in Lund is a municipal family counseling service operated in collaboration between six municipalities: Burlöv, Lomma, Kävlinge, Höör, Staffanstorp, and Lund.

The reception is centrally located in Lund and is organizationally part of the Labor Market and Social Services Administration in Lund. The mission of the Family Counseling Service is to assist in addressing relationship problems and conflicts, primarily in couple and family relationships, through conversations. As a family counselor with us, you will mostly work alone in the conversations, but colleagues can join in when necessary. The conversations have varying focuses but are based on relational issues, such as repairs, separations, communication, conflicts, family life, and sexual and relationship questions. As a family counselor, you perform important work with preventive significance concerning individuals' mental health and children's upbringing conditions. Central to the conversations is the perspective and needs of the children, which is important to keep alive in discussions with the adult couples.

The team at the reception consists of 9 full-time positions, currently distributed among 10 family counselors. The team also includes a unit administrator and a unit manager. Collaboration exists with other Family Counseling Services in Skåne and also nationally based on KFR and in subject matters.

As two of our colleagues will retire during the year and one colleague will be on leave, we are now looking for new colleagues to join our team. Two positions are permanent full-time, and the third is a full-time temporary position for just over 6 months with a possibility of extension.

We are Looking for You

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or a degree that the employer deems equivalent, as well as basic psychotherapy training (Step 1). Furthermore, you should have at least 3 years of experience in social treatment work with families or conversational therapy based on relational issues. Experience working in family counseling or with couples/families is an advantage. For the position, good knowledge of Swedish is required, and it is advantageous if you can conduct professional treatment conversations in English and/or another language. Additional advantageous qualifications include further training in methods that can be considered strengthening for the assignment, such as EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), sexology, or similar.

About the Workplace

We are part of the Labor Market and Social Services Administration, where approximately 600 employees provide support to the residents of Lund who need social services.
