Treatment Assistant at SiS Youth Home Hässleholm
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Hässleholm is a locked institution with four treatment departments, two departments for reception and needs assessment (MBB), and an open TFCO unit. We primarily receive school-age boys but also girls, who are involved in ongoing criminal activities and, in some cases, substance abuse.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable individuals? Then the job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. You will work in a team with trained treatment educators and an Operational Leader, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and participate in working towards a continually better SiS.
We are now looking for new staff for the night shift, as we have the opportunity to expand our team.
Our operations run 24/7, and as a night worker, you are responsible for the well-being and safety of the young people, with a primary focus on promoting their sleep routines and being available for them as needed. Nighttime is often the most challenging time of day for many, and sleep problems are very common among our youth, making a reliable adult who can offer support through conversation or other means a crucial piece of the puzzle. The work can vary greatly in intensity, from very calm nights to nights that demand a lot from you as a treatment assistant.
You will always work awake nights with us on shifts scheduled between 21:00-08:00 on weekdays and 20:45-08:15 on weekends. You will work according to a rolling schedule in a team with several other treatment assistants and educators. The current schedule is under revision, and there may be some changes in the times in the future.
As night staff, you will have a workload of 78.01%.
This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Your work may also include mentoring new staff.
Qualifications
To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help individuals in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values, being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are secure in yourself and can easily build relationships with both youth and other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.
You should also have:
- Completed upper secondary education with at least a grade of E in:
- the course Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1
- the course English 5
- the course Mathematics 1
- the final project
- at least 2250 out of 2500 points

Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
The position is a permanent employment at 78.01% and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
