We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or a student studying towards one of these professions with a passing grade in semester 5 for the summer. As a licensed professional, you will be employed in your professional role, while students will be offered a position as a rehabilitation assistant, providing valuable work experience.

The work is scheduled for the summer months of June to August and takes place at the short-term accommodation Söderkulla.

Job Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or rehabilitation assistant, you create conditions for independence and collaborate in a team with nurses, nursing assistants, and other staff based on individual needs and participation.

As a licensed occupational therapist, you will conduct ADL assessments and activity assessments, as well as assess, plan, and implement rehabilitative interventions. You will also perform cognitive assessments, hand status assessments, and provide hand training and cognitive training based on individual needs. Your role includes assessing the need for assistive devices, trialing them, and following up. You will also guide other staff in a rehabilitative approach and contribute to creating good conditions for participation in daily life. When time allows, you will also hold group activities.

As a licensed physiotherapist, you will work with functional assessments and assess, plan, and implement rehabilitative interventions. Together with the Malmö resident and the team, you will establish rehabilitation plans with clear goals and design individual training programs. You will assess the need for assistive devices and be responsible for trials upon the patient's arrival and when needs change. Your work also includes guiding other staff in a rehabilitative approach. As part of your work, you will also conduct group exercises.

As a rehabilitation assistant, you will work under the direction of licensed occupational therapists and physiotherapists. You will instruct, support, and motivate the Malmö resident in training programs and walking training based on assessments by licensed personnel. Your work includes implementing individual training programs, such as hip training after hip fractures and shoulder training after collum chirurgicum fractures, as well as hand training and cognitive training based on the resident's abilities and goals. You will report back to your licensed colleague and receive ongoing new assignments, as well as hold group activities such as seated exercise and walks when needed.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a licensed occupational therapist or physiotherapist (180 credits) or has an ongoing education to become an occupational therapist/physiotherapist with passing grades from semester 5 (Rehabilitation Assistant)
  • Has digital competence, meaning you can use a computer as a work tool and can learn new programs and systems.
  • Has good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in municipal operations
  • Worked with the Procapita system

You should have a solution-focused approach in your interactions with the Malmö resident and take responsibility for planning and implementing activities that lead to desired outcomes. You are flexible and enjoy varied workdays where you can quickly adapt to changes. Seeing possibilities and alternative solutions is a natural part of your working style. Furthermore, you are collaborative and accustomed to working in teams, as well as being attentive and communicative in your interactions with individuals receiving services, their relatives, and your colleagues.

About the Workplace

The position is located at the short-term accommodation Söderkulla (Tornfalksgatan 5). In the City of Malmö, there are three short-term accommodations: Mathildenborg, Söderkulla, and KRA. At Söderkulla, occupational therapists and physiotherapists share an office and collaborate closely regarding patients, being responsible for one department but supporting each other as needed.

We are a stable workgroup with three occupational therapists and three physiotherapists, and we have an open work climate where we support each other and share many laughs. The short-term accommodations receive Malmö residents with extensive care needs for a limited period, where nursing assistants, care aides, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists work in interdisciplinary teams with a common rehabilitative approach.
