Östervångsskolan in Lund offers bilingual education in a sign language environment for students from preschool class to grade 10. Our students receive instruction in both Swedish sign language and Swedish. We offer accommodation for students who cannot commute to school every day. The school shares premises with a municipal primary school, Tunaskolan, and there is collaboration within the school area.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position of school nurse involves health-promoting and preventive work according to the basic program, the Education Act, and the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines for EMI. You will conduct health visits to increase students' knowledge and awareness of risk and health factors and how they affect health. EMI should contribute to creating environments that promote students' learning, development, and health, as well as support students' development towards educational goals.

The work includes health checks, health conversations, vaccinations, basic medical interventions, and collaboration with internal and external actors. The work also includes preventive and health-promoting measures in the educational activities, such as training initiatives with students. You will follow the guidelines in the management system and participate in professional meetings for school nurses.

You will be part of the school's student health team and work together with school management, school psychologist, special educator, school social worker, and school doctor. You will also work closely with other professionals at the school and participate in and be responsible for activities in health-promoting and preventive work.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position, you must be a licensed nurse and have knowledge of the Health and Medical Services Act and guidance for student health.

You also have:

  • Experience working in school operations as a school nurse.
  • Swedish sign language and Swedish in writing.
  • Good general IT skills, preferably experience with systems such as Prorenata.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working with children and youth with disabilities.
  • Experience from habilitation and pediatric care.
  • Knowledge of deaf culture.
  • Knowledge of various disabilities, particularly within NPF.
  • Knowledge in motivational work/conversational methodology.

Personal qualities:

We are looking for someone who works well independently but can also collaborate effectively with others. You create good and sustainable relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You drive your work independently and according to the assignment you have. You take responsibility, find solutions, and contribute to the school's development. You have a positive attitude and the desire to be part of our team.

OTHER

The position is 50%.

A probationary period of 6 months applies.

A criminal record extract must be presented before employment.

In the event of a societal crisis, you may be directed to work between the agency's areas of operation based on your placement.
