Do you want to be part of building a new business for multimodal pain rehabilitation in Region Skåne from the ground up? On April 1, we will launch three clinics located in Malmö, Helsingborg, and Kristianstad for multimodal pain rehabilitation at the primary care level (MMRpv) under the region's management, with a mission to gradually develop and shape the business over time. We are now looking for occupational therapists for our newly established clinics in Malmö and Helsingborg.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the business from the ground up. As an occupational therapist, you will have significant opportunities to influence both the methods and content of treatment, as well as the structure, teamwork, and ongoing development of the clinics. You will work in a team-based manner alongside physiotherapists, doctors, behavioral medicine professionals, and medical secretaries, where collaboration between professions is a central part of the mission. Treatment primarily takes place in group formats, focusing on structured, evidence-based, and person-centered interventions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Multimodal pain rehabilitation aims to improve function in individuals with chronic pain by developing better coping strategies and enhancing quality of life. It is a team-based and structured form of rehabilitation. You will work from a behavioral medicine and biopsychosocial approach as part of the team. The treatment methods are based on knowledge of pain physiology, sensorimotor function, and behavioral medicine. All treatment and training occur in groups of about six to eight participants.

As an occupational therapist, you will be responsible for:

• conducting patient education in training for sensorimotor function, developing body awareness, and supporting patients in managing movement anxiety and increasing physical activity in daily life
• supporting patients' ability to perform daily activities through increased awareness and adapted activity patterns, as well as identifying and managing barriers and supportive factors related to their activities
• leading activity groups, conveying knowledge about ergonomics and the significance of activities
• conducting assessments of function, mobility, and physical capacity
• planning, implementing, and following up on group-based training and rehabilitation interventions
• working from a behavioral medicine approach focusing on pain management, physical activity, and long-term functional improvement.

Part of the role involves acting as a rehabilitation coordinator, which includes coordinating rehabilitation efforts, dialoguing with patients, healthcare providers, and, if necessary, external stakeholders, as well as supporting the patient's rehabilitation process with a focus on function, participation, and return to activity. You will also participate in development and quality work within the organization.

As an occupational therapist, your primary placement will be at one of the clinics in either Malmö or Helsingborg, and in your application, you should indicate which location(s) you are interested in. Travel between locations may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required.

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

• group-based and exercise-oriented rehabilitation
• working with a behavioral medicine focus, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and/or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and/or motivational interviewing (MI)
• quality and development work
• a rehabilitation coordinator role.

If you have taken courses in pain physiology and chronic pain, that is also advantageous.
