Make a difference. Every day.

Do you want to be part of the start and build a new service for multimodal pain rehabilitation in Region Skåne? We are now looking for physiotherapists for our newly established clinics in Kristianstad, Malmö, and Helsingborg. Starting April 1, we will launch three clinics for multimodal pain rehabilitation at the primary care level (MMRpv) under the region's management, with a mission to gradually develop and shape the service over time.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the service from the ground up. As a physiotherapist, you will have great opportunities to influence both methods and treatment content as well as structure, teamwork, and the continued development of the clinics. You will work in a team-based manner alongside occupational therapists, doctors, professionals with behavioral medicine expertise, and medical secretaries, where collaboration between professions is a central part of the mission. Treatment primarily takes place in group format, focusing on structured, evidence-based, and person-centered interventions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Multimodal pain rehabilitation aims to improve function in individuals with chronic pain by developing better coping strategies and increasing quality of life. It is a team-based and structured form of rehabilitation. You will work from a behavioral medicine and biopsychosocial approach as part of the team. The treatment methods are based on knowledge of pain physiology, sensorimotor function, and behavioral medicine. Your role in the team includes patient education, training of sensorimotor function, development of body awareness, and helping the patient manage movement fear and increase physical activity in daily life. All treatment and training occur in groups of about six to eight participants.

As a physiotherapist, you will be responsible for:

  • conducting physiotherapeutic assessments of function, mobility, and physical capacity at the group level
  • planning, implementing, and following up on group-based training and rehabilitation interventions
  • planning and conducting patient education that occurs in groups
  • working from a behavioral medicine approach focusing on pain management, physical activity, and long-term functional improvement
  • supporting the patient in developing strategies for sustainable activity and increased participation
  • actively participating in the team's joint assessments, planning, and follow-up of rehabilitation interventions.

You will also participate in service development and in the development of treatment programs and working methods in the new organization.

As a physiotherapist, your primary placement will be at one of the clinics in either Kristianstad, Malmö, or Helsingborg, and in your application, you specify which locations you are interested in. Travel between locations may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed physiotherapist with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required.

It is an advantage if you have experience in:

  • group-based and exercise-oriented rehabilitation
  • sensorimotor training and body awareness training
  • working with a behavioral medicine focus such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and/or motivational approaches such as motivational interviewing (MI)
  • quality and development work
  • a rehabilitation coordinator role.

If you have taken courses in pain physiology and chronic pain, it is also an advantage, as well as if you have specialist competence in pain and pain rehabilitation or orthopedics.

As a person, we see that you have a genuine interest in rehabilitation for chronic pain and a person-centered working method. You enjoy working in a team around the patient and have the willingness and ability to share your expertise with others. You are engaged, structured, and have good collaboration skills, while also being confident in your professional role and able to work independently. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Warm welcome with your application!
