Welcome to become a part of the specialty area (VO) of anesthesia, surgery, and intensive care with about 420 employees in Helsingborg and Ängelholm!

Here, we conduct a broad acute and elective operation that includes all surgical activities including recovery units, day surgery units, and sterile technical units in Helsingborg and Ängelholm, as well as intensive care, intermediate care, pain clinics, and hyperbaric medicine in Helsingborg. We have a total of 21 operating rooms and perform around 12,500 surgeries each year. Staffing is good in the operating and intensive care units (ICU). We conduct research at an international level, and the operation is a university hospital unit.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We look forward to welcoming a resident physician (ST-läkare) to our anesthesia, surgery, and intensive care department, as well as the pain clinic! The position is an educational position lasting approximately five years, with the goal of becoming a licensed specialist physician in anesthesia and intensive care.

The content of your ST position will be organized together with the study director and supervisors in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Swedish Society for Anesthesia and Intensive Care (SFAI) and in compliance with the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations regarding courses and timelines. The training includes, among other things, side duties/rotations at university hospitals concerning specialist healthcare. Parts of the training will be conducted at Ängelholm Hospital. Basic training (BT) will not be offered within the framework of the ST position as Region Skåne applies independent BT.

Your working hours are scheduled during daytime, including on-call duties. The position is primarily located in Helsingborg, but work in Ängelholm may occur. A probationary employment may be applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are required. We would like you to attach your medical license to your application.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience from a similar position. Likewise, previous medical experience, other medical experiences, research merits, and experience with the Melior journal system are advantageous. If you have additional language skills beyond Swedish, it is a plus.

As a person, we see that you have a holistic view of the human being and a genuine interest in how the body's various functions are interconnected and affect each other. You are also accustomed to prioritizing between your tasks, where you have a good ability to handle and structure arising situations under some pressure. Furthermore, you have good collaboration and communication skills. Since the position involves on-call work, it is also important that you feel comfortable with that. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
