Make a difference. Every day.

We are now looking for a new colleague to join us at the Department of Reconstructive Surgery (ORK). Would you like to help develop our operations together with us? Then take the chance and become a part of our wonderful team!

We are a highly specialized and well-functioning day surgery unit. Our opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 07:00 to 17:30 and Friday from 07:00 to 14:00. ORK provides services to surgical specialties within plastic surgery, ear, nose, and throat (ENT), urology, pediatric surgery, breast cancer surgery, hand surgery, and pediatric dentistry, as well as services to children and adolescents from the children's clinic and dermatology. The unit's mission also includes services to the diagnostic center (MRI) and psychiatry (ECT). ORK is part of the area of operation (VO) intensive and perioperative care within Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Malmö.

Important to us is a good working environment that we create together, and we strive to provide conditions for individual professional development. We have implemented the Competence and Service Model (KTM), a competence model that involves continuous and lifelong learning as well as good and safe care, which is part of the work with the magnet model. Our focus is on a well-functioning patient flow with the patient's safety and security at the center.

We offer you a stimulating and inspiring workplace, with pleasant colleagues and opportunities for professional development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The operating room nurses are primarily divided into two specialties: ENT/urology (endoscopy/stones surgery) and plastic surgery/breast cancer surgery. As an operating room nurse with us, you will gain broad competence while having the opportunity to specialize in one of these areas.

As an operating room nurse, you are expected to have advanced nursing knowledge, which means the ability to work independently and lead development within surgical nursing. You should also possess all six core competencies: person-centered care, teamwork, evidence-based care, improvement knowledge and quality development, safe care, and informatics. We work in teams with nursing assistants, registered nurses, and doctors.

This position includes a 50% responsibility for purchasing. This means you are responsible for purchasing primarily surgical materials, implants, instruments, equipment, and medical technology. Additionally, you will manage inventory and complaints. You are a key person regarding contact with operating specialties, suppliers, the sterile technical unit, and other surgical units. The role also involves reviewing the unit's invoices and participating in procurements within Region Skåne. You have information responsibility towards unit managers and employees to spread knowledge about changes and news.

As a new employee with us, you will have access to an individually tailored orientation program that we develop based on your previous experiences. We assume that everyone has an individual learning process and see it as a given that you will receive support from colleagues to become confident in your role.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare and who has a specialist education in surgical nursing. You have knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale. Previous experience in surgical operations is an advantage.

We hope that you, just like us, value a job characterized by personal responsibility, participation, trust, and collaboration between colleagues and managers. You are confident in your role as a nurse and have the ability to make both large and small decisions. Furthermore, you are comfortable working independently, good at collaborating, and have strong communication skills. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

In this recruitment, we are working with ongoing selection. We warmly welcome your application!
