In the cardiology department, we care for patients with various heart problems, from heart attacks to arrhythmias and heart failure. We provide both acute and planned care. We in the cardiology department are driven by being responsive to the patient's needs, thinking innovatively, and having a welcoming approach. There is a well-functioning team around the patient where everyone works together, from occupational therapists, physiotherapists to doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants. Our work is varied; for example, we work on developing patients' diets and portable devices for bedside assessments of patients. Each employee is provided with their own mobile device to record patient measurements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our exciting operations and work together as a team. With us, you are offered the opportunity to develop and grow in your profession.

As a nursing assistant, you will work with varied tasks such as care, sampling, and National Early Warning Score (NEWS) EK. Additionally, there are other regular tasks in your role. Many of our patients require heart monitoring, which means we have quite a bit of medical technical equipment. Besides the clinical work with our patients, all employees are involved in developing and improving care in our unit. We offer our employees the opportunity to participate in the Clinical Foundation Year for nursing assistants at Ystad Hospital, which includes introduction and skills development in several different areas.

As a new nursing assistant with us, you will receive a good introduction on the ward, where you will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced colleague to best transition into your role. The length of the introduction will be determined together.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on emergency care/healthcare according to the previous program structure or a trained nursing assistant within the new program structure who has studied all specializations. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Furthermore, you have previous experience working as a nursing assistant in somatic care. It is advantageous if you have previously worked with heart monitoring and cardiac care.

To succeed in your role, you are a responsible and curious person who is secure in your professional role. You have the ability to prioritize your work and can adapt to the needs of the organization. For us, it is valuable that you are engaged and take responsibility for both patient-related work and the development of care and operations. OTHER

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant will become a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social services. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. If you do not currently have a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, it means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant and not nursing assistant.
