The Adult Psychiatry Area (VO) Malmö-Trelleborg, Psychosis Area, consists of three units with inpatient care and four units with outpatient care. At our Psychosis reception in Trelleborg, we assess, investigate, diagnose, and treat individuals with a previously diagnosed psychotic disorder as well as conditions where psychosis development is suspected.

Since 2018, we have also been working according to the FACT method (Flexible Assertive Community Treatment), which means high flexibility and availability where much of the treatment takes place in the patients' home environment. We have a well-established collaboration with our municipalities and healthcare partners, as well as highly engaged staff who work with patients from a holistic perspective. In cases of suspected new onset of psychosis, we follow a specific concept that includes assessments, investigations, and family work. We also conduct group activities at the reception.

We are now looking forward to welcoming a new senior physician/specialist physician to the Psychosis reception in Trelleborg, Psychosis Area within Adult Psychiatry Malmö-Trelleborg! With us, you will have an exciting and varied job where the meeting with the patient takes place either at the reception, in the patient's home, or at another agreed location.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a senior physician/specialist physician with us, you will work with assessments, diagnostics, and treatments together with an engaged interdisciplinary team. The reception consists of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, medical secretaries, peer support, and unit managers. You have a very important role and are the medically responsible physician who contributes and works for good and patient-safe care at the unit and area in a more overarching way. Since we receive medical students from the basic education, you are also expected to contribute with supervision to all levels of training doctors. The position also includes on-call work.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. In addition, you have:

• specialist competence in general psychiatry
• language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale
• completed or planned course in clinical supervision.

For employment as a senior physician, you must also have:

• full-time service of at least three years (documented effective time)
• clinical skill and independence in general psychiatry
• defined medical responsibility and knowledge area
• documented teaching and supervision merits.

We consider it an advantage if you have a doctorate and an interest in research in the field of psychosis. Previous work with the patient group as well as experience and interest in working in a team are also advantageous.

As a person, we see that you have good communication skills, where you can convey knowledge and messages clearly and pedagogically. You also have a good ability to prioritize among your tasks when the situation requires it. You are an unpretentious team player with a great commitment and interest in our operations, as well as a flexible and loyal colleague in the specialist physician group. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. You may have acquired this through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application the pedagogical courses you have completed or planned, experience of supervision, and teaching at different levels.
