The Children and Youth unit is responsible for authority actions directed at children and youth aged 0-21 years.

We are a competent, experienced, helpful, and friendly workgroup that enjoys working together. We have 17 social workers, one administrator, two team leaders, and one unit manager.

Now that one of our colleagues is going on parental leave, we are looking for you who want to be part of our team and contribute with your commitment.

For us, it is important to develop our working methods to provide children and families with a professional response and legally secure processing. It is also important for us to have close cooperation with children, parents, and their networks - a social work that is based on trust and respect, where the child should feel listened to, understand what is happening, and feel important in the process. We would love for you to be part of that work with us.

We have begun the work of transitioning to the new Social Services Act that came into force in July 2025. The new Social Services Act has a clearer child perspective, is more preventive and accessible, and allows for providing services without means testing. We find it exciting and fun to start that work.

Job Responsibilities

Working as a social worker is a varied and exciting job where you have the opportunity to be part of creating a change process and making a difference for children and youth.

The work as a social worker in Children and Youth primarily involves:

• Investigating the needs of the child/youth, proposing interventions, and following up and evaluating these interventions.
• Having close cooperation with the child/youth, their parents, and their networks.
• Having close cooperation with colleagues in other parts of our organization.
• Having close cooperation with other professional networks around the child/youth.
• Being involved in improvement work and together creating working methods and approaches that benefit those we are here for.
• All your work is based on BBIC, the child's needs in focus, and Signs of Safety.

Do you have any area within the handling of children and youth that you find particularly interesting? If so, we will try to match your work based on your area of interest.

The work in the unit is conducted according to SoL, LVU, and other applicable legislation. You will have close support from colleagues, team leaders, and the manager. In the workgroup, there is an administrator who supports and relieves the daily work.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and who is interested in developing social work and processing for children aged 0-21 years. We value those who have a professional approach and the ability to create good relationships with children, families, and other stakeholders. You work independently, plan and organize your work effectively. You collaborate well with others and are attentive in your interactions. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. It is an advantage if you have experience of authority actions within the target group and have worked with BBIC and Signs of Safety.

As a new social worker with us, you will have time to grow into the role. You will be offered an introduction and training tailored to your needs that will provide you with the tools you need in your work. We have continuous method supervision and regular case reviews. All employees in the unit are part of the Professional Journey. The Professional Journey is an initiative to strengthen the introduction and skills development for social workers in authority actions regarding children and youth.

We offer external supervision, annual working hours, vacation exchange, wellness benefits, and the possibility of agreeing on remote work up to two days a week.
