About the Job
Are you longing for a meaningful job where you can truly make a difference together with others? Do you want to work in a non-profit organization where the individual is always in focus?
Mikaelgården is a non-profit therapeutic educational organization offering accommodations for children and youth under the framework of LSS and HVB. We run a resource school with a Waldorf profile for students in primary and adapted primary school.
The Position
Mikaelgården's Waldorf school is now looking for a class teacher for the middle school level.
We are looking for a licensed teacher. You are engaged and curious about people and enjoy collaborating. You are accustomed to taking responsibility. Particularly advantageous is if you have training in or experience with Waldorf pedagogy, as well as experience and interest in students with special needs.
Immediate start.
The School
The school has permission to provide education without a timetable. This gives teachers a unique opportunity to work interdisciplinary based on the students' needs and requires a careful eye on learning development and subject progression. The school has a close collaboration with Mikaelgården's accommodations; HVB and LSS, where many students reside during the week.
The school is beautifully located with the forest at its back. There is an outdoor classroom and “Children's Garden” where children participate in digging, sowing, and harvesting.
We are happy to share more about the setup and how we work during a potential interview. There is also an opportunity to visit the school if we proceed further.
Mikaelgården
At Mikaelgården, we have created a therapeutic environment for children who need more than temporary interventions. The students, who are of primary school age, come from all over the country and exhibit a wide range of different psychological and social functional variations. Common diagnoses include Autism, ADD, ADHD, Asperger's, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Tourette's syndrome.
Mikaelgården is beautifully located a short distance outside Järna center. Classrooms, assembly hall, dining hall, and accommodations are all on the same premises, creating a living context that fosters a special sense of security and belonging.
