Temporary Position in Event and Meeting Services

Our colleague is going on parental leave, and we are therefore looking for a temporary position in the Event and Meeting Services unit.

This unit supports the operations of Västra Götaland Region with digital and physical events and conference services on a consultancy basis. For digital events, we have access to our own studio where we can offer digital live broadcasts and recordings. We also provide solutions for live broadcasts in external conference venues and offer support with recorded films prior to broadcasting.

Our studio operations are a relatively newly started consultancy service where you as an employee have a great opportunity to be involved in the continued development of the business. In our engaged and driven team consisting of four event coordinators and a technician/producer, you will become an important part of meeting Västra Götaland Region's needs for digital live events.

Job Responsibilities

We offer you an exciting and developing role where you work closely with both colleagues and our clients within the region's various administrations and companies. Together with our existing technician/producer, you will be based in the Region's house in central Gothenburg.

The job responsibilities mainly consist of;

• Preparation - based on the client's needs, choose the approach and guide the client through the process, investigate venues for external events.
• Pre-production - carry out film productions, often independently, and edit these into a finished product.
• Rehearsal - book and conduct digital and physical rehearsals with participants.
• Preparations for broadcasting - create a running schedule, adjust lighting, set up equipment according to specific broadcasting needs. For external events, equipment needs to be prepared, transported, and set up on-site.
• Broadcasting - independently operate cameras, sound and video mixers, and ensure that the broadcast reaches the viewers.
• Post-production - basic editing and sound processing of recorded broadcasts, as well as ordering subtitles and delivery/publication of finished material.

Typically, working hours are scheduled during daytime from Monday to Friday, but evening and weekend work may occur.

Qualifications

You have the ability to see the big picture for productions and have a solution-oriented and proactive working method. You have a sense of how image, speech, music, and text can interact, and how different digital solutions can best meet the needs based on the purpose of the meeting (e.g., workshop, seminar, conference/congress, event). Your service mindset is high, and you have excellent collaboration skills. You enjoy working both independently and as part of your team.

We are looking for someone with relevant higher education for the position, such as in moving image production, or other post-secondary education that, together with several years of professional experience in similar tasks, is considered equivalent. We see that you have experience in multi-camera production, film production, editing, lighting, and sound production. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of AV technology and experience with Teams and streaming platforms such as Vimeo or YouTube. You have basic knowledge of network management and experience with relevant software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Resolve, Companion, and OBS Studio.

It is advantageous if you have previous experience in subtitling, photography, color grading, and handling PTZ cameras.

Since we are an organization with a large geographical spread, travel may occur in the position, so we see it as an advantage if you have a B driver's license.
