Chalmers Library is part of the Department of Science Communication and Learning, and we are now looking for a systems librarian with an interest in and knowledge of metadata for a one-year temporary position. The position offers the opportunity to combine systems-oriented work with user-centered librarian tasks, including service at the library's information desks. You will be part of an engaged team where collaboration, quality, and service are at the center.
Information about the department/project/area
Chalmers Library consists of two departments, Learning and Learning Environments, and Information Resources and Scientific Publishing, and the position is placed in the latter. Together, we are responsible for the library's systems, collections, and user support, providing service to students, researchers, and staff at Chalmers University of Technology. The work is carried out in close collaboration between different functions within the library and in cooperation with other parts of the university as well as external suppliers.
Job Description
As a systems librarian, you will work with the administration and further development of the library data system Folio, Ebsco Discovery Service, as well as related systems and integrations. The role includes providing support and training to library staff on system-related issues, as well as other librarian tasks, including staffing the information desk.
Qualifications
A degree in library and information science or equivalent, as well as experience working with library systems and library services. Good digital competence and interest in working with metadata. Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Previous experience in system management, system integrations, or technical tools is an advantage. As a person, you are driven and self-sufficient, enjoy taking initiative, and have an easy time collaborating and communicating with others.
Employment Type
Temporary position for one year, full-time.
