Fifteen minutes from Korsvägen, you will find Mölnlycke Cultural Center - a meeting place for young and old. Under the same roof, there are rooms for experiences, inspiration, learning, and creativity. Here you will find the municipality's main library, studio, art hall, cinema, rental rooms, stages, and café. Mölnlycke Library is popular and well-visited, with high loan rates. The cultural center has over 300,000 visitors each year and is located in Mölnlycke center. The library services in Härryda municipality consist of, in addition to the main library in Mölnlycke, the libraries in Landvetter, Rävlanda, and Hindås. Together, we are about 25 people working to offer the residents of Härryda municipality really good library services.

Your Mission

One of our children's librarians will be on parental leave, and therefore we are now looking for a curious and engaged colleague who, together with us, wants to offer an exciting children's program. Your focus will primarily be on beginner readers, but you will work with children of all ages in various ways. Here you have the opportunity to create activities that are language-stimulating, encourage reading, and promote creativity. The library's children's section is a meeting point for children and their adults, and we want to create a welcoming, inspiring, and permissive place together with them. We strive to take advantage of children's interests and want to continue developing the work with children's participation and perspectives - you will be a part of that work. The position includes work at the information desk. The library has many visitors of all ages, and you need to be flexible, solution-oriented, and have a clear user focus. You will primarily work to create meaningful reading-promoting activities for children in their free time, but the job also involves receiving class visits.

Requirements for the Position

We are primarily looking for someone with a degree in library and information science. We want you to have knowledge of and interest in working with language stimulation for younger children and that you have good knowledge of children's literature and children's culture. You need to be able to work long-term but also improvise and capture ideas in the moment. A prerequisite for thriving in the position is that you enjoy meeting children, are curious about their experiences, and can easily build relationships. You need to be comfortable speaking in front of groups of both children and adults. We would prefer that you have experience working as a librarian, especially as a children's librarian.

To obtain employment, a police record extract must be presented.
